Nestled in towering conifers to the east, a diminishment of brightness might be presumed. The light, undaunted, seeks the house, even as the house seeks the light. Immediately apparent from within is the lavish openness of horizontal and vertical space beyond the windows. The western sky, unconstrained: the Olympics, rising majestically above the glistening water of the Hood Canal. Light and air, solace and unanimity, commingle. The feeling is one of freedom. The response is one of joy.
